Fed: Hanson's jail sentence 'severe': Howard
MELBOURNE, Aug 22 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard today said he found the three-yearjail term handed down to Pauline Hanson "severe".
Mr Howard said he would not comment on whether the conviction was justified becausehe had not sat through the court hearing.
"But if you ask me - like many other people I find the sentence certainly very longand very severe," Mr Howard told Melbourne radio station 3AW.
"I don't really want to say more than that because I'm conscious of my position butI'd think I'd be piking if I didn't express a view on it.
"That is my view, the matter will probably come to appeal then the courts will haveto deal with it."
